Below is a list of places in Mexico City (Ciudad de Mexico–CDMX) that Phil Rosenthal visited in the Netflix Original Somebody Feed Phil. I love Mexican food and Phil does such a great job at connecting with locals to showcase some noteworthy restaurants and food stands in CDMX.

The Mercado de Tepito is the largest and most notorious for counterfeits and stolen goods in CDMX. It’s moniker is Barrio Bravo – or the “fierce neighborhood.” It’s also a great place to find a bargain. You can spend an entire day here and barely scratch the surface of the 72 blocks of storefronts.

At Pujol, one of the world’s 50 best restaurants (but no Michelin stars yet), Phil tries baby corn in a blend of chicatana (flying ants) and mayonnaise, Enrique Olvera’s famous Mole Madre and pulque ice cream with guava for dessert. The Mole Madre is made by reheating mole from 3 years ago to amplify and unify the flavors–imagine a vertical sauce blend. It is also served with a traditional herb.
